Jon L 5 months agoEastlake does not have a large supermarket. Instead, there are a number of small mini marts if you are looking for groceries in the neighborhood. The biggest store is Pete's, which is located next to Lake Union. It is a few blocks west of Eastlake Avenue. Just walk down to the end of East Lynn Street and you will find it. The selection at Pete's is that of a grocery store. Though I wouldn't consider it a supermarket since they don't have fresh meat items though they do have produce. Prices are on the higher side, but I would consider the product selection to be somewhat upscale. Not just mainstream brands. You can find some specialty items sprinkled around the store. The store has a good wine section, with one aisle devoted to it. There is also a deli in the back. They have a selection of prepared deli sandwiches available on weekdays. The quality is decent, but they are a bit pricey. Each portion is the size of a half sandwich. Quality wise, I do prefer the sandwiches at the newly opened Otherside Market nearby, which are made to order. But a sandwich here would do in a pinch if I am looking for a quick bite. Overall, I think this store is alright. It has a better selection than the mini marts in the neighborhood. But you will find cheaper groceries by shopping at a large grocery like QFC or Safeway instead. It does in a pinch though if you need a random item and live in the area.
Tinker Bell 2 months agoRUDE. Good market, fantastic wine selection. Most unfortunate when I was treated ever so terribly by one of the clerks, and either the manager or owner as well. It was a while back, so perhaps the staff has changed and proprietorship may have also changed hands by this time. The incident in question involved a clerk who was obviously struggling with a bad day,,,or bad life - when with a hostile manner he snarled at me for approaching an apparent broken freezer for which he had been having to deal with. When I told his superior about it (again, manager or owner) they basically shrugged it off and was completely dismissive, could've cared less, and decided to do the "his word against yours" bs. Had a wedding and needed champagne for 200 guests. I kindly reminded the shopkeep of the incident, informing of the business they were missing out on. Sloppy shoppy makes for a bad business, no matter how good the goods.
J G a month agoWeird experience, was the only shopper in there and the lady working decided to stop what she was doing to watch me… the whole entire time…. All the way until I was walking out. Invest in some cameras so you don’t have to scare people away maybe? Super uncomfortable.
Ci Jay a month agoGood local store with a good selection but the lady at the entrance didn't allow us to use the restroom even though we really asked her even though we were the customers of the store.
Conrad Lightfoot 4 years agoCute one-stop shop for quick groceries. Overwhelming wine selection that can be easier to manage if you just ask someone working there. Their produce section is a bit scarce - but enough for some basics. A MUST for the Eastlake community and to visit if traveling
