Tyler Darden 2 weeks agoOh my! I do hope this review is received in the friendly spirit in which it is intended. I am fluent in over six million forms of communication, and I shall do my best to communicate this delicately. The Davie has a great deal of charm. The inside was quaint, welcoming, and friendly — the sort of cozy little establishment where even a protocol droid might feel at ease after a long journey through downtown Raleigh. The staff and interior atmosphere gave off a warm, approachable feeling, and I could certainly see why people would enjoy stopping in. However, I must say that the outdoor area was a bit more like the trash compactor scene than the cantina on Tatooine. There was a noticeable sewage-like odor outside, and the number of bugs made it rather difficult to relax. I would never wish to sound dramatic — though my counterpart R2-D2 would likely accuse me of doing so — but the exterior experience did not quite match the pleasant charm of the inside. In the interest of being helpful, I believe a few improvements could make a tremendous difference. Perhaps the nearby drains or plumbing areas could be inspected, outdoor fans added, pest-control measures increased, and patio cleaning done more frequently. Citronella, discreet odor control, and better airflow might help the outdoor space feel less like a swamp on Dagobah and more like a comfortable downtown gathering spot. Overall, The Davie has real potential. The interior has charm, the atmosphere is friendly, and I would gladly consider returning — especially if the outdoor smell and bug issue were addressed. With a bit of maintenance and attention to the patio area, I believe this establishment could avoid any further disturbances in the Force. Thank you kindly, and may your hospitality circuits continue operating smoothly.
Neha Patel 9 months agoNice atmosphere on a Thursday night, plenty of seating up stairs to chat and watch numerous games of preference to enjoy some tap sour or light beers. Staf verry attentive.
Sarah Scheidler 5 months agoWhat you say you’re looking for cool, inviting and comfortable place to have a drink…I think I found just the spot! All the patrons and staff are friendly. The prices are reasonable. Wide range of drinks and shots. Also they will try their hardest to find whatever game it is you want to watch! I’ll return, no doubt!
Kayla Smith 3 weeks agoUnfriendly. Spend your money elsewhere. There are way better and more inviting bars within walking distance. Discriminatory establishment. Poor service.
dan smith 2 years agoPopped in here my first time during Bluegrass Fest to get a Sip and Stroll roadie. Cute bar. Several regulars hanging out in the afternoon with a couple dogs in attendance. Everyone very friendly. Bartender was nice. Pours were good. I’m going to give this place several more tries as I figure out what bar is going to be my sip and stroll regular bar for bourbon soda and vodka soda. Also the upstairs has a cute view just be careful heading back down those stairs if you’ve had a few.
