Hyde Park Market is one of those rare neighborhood spots that genuinely feels like a second home the moment you walk in. The selection here is unlike any ordinary convenience store, with over 500 beers to choose from including the ability to mix and match your own six pack, plus a great range of organic, vegan and gluten free products. The staff always greet you with a smile and after a few visits they already know your favorites and make sure they stay in stock for you. It is refreshing to find a family owned business in Austin that combines such a wide variety of products with such a warm and personal atmosphere. The unique touch of international flags decorating the store gives it a character and charm you simply will not find anywhere else. This place is a true Hyde Park institution and a gem in the Austin community.

They’re running quite the racket here. I run in for some butter and a tub of ice cream and my total comes out near double what the signs and labels say ($22). Butter is labeled with stickers that say $3.99 but rings up for $9.49. Cashier was nice and gave me a cash refund, but I understand he doesn’t do the labelling. When I get home I see that my $10 butter is nearing its expiration date. Great! Watch out. I won’t be coming back.

This is my neighborhood store and I feel lucky that I live so close. Their selection of beverages is amazing, and once they know your favorites they try to make sure it's always in stock for you. The staff is top -notch. Awesome chocolate selection and decent assortment of groceries if you can't get to your regular grocery store. The gas pumps are usually all taken so I wish they had more of them but it's not a deal-breaker because the store itself makes up for it.
