I’ve been here a few times with no issues but the night of October 24th around 6pm one of the employees, an Indian man with a strong accent, was extremely rude to me. He didn’t ask if I wanted a bag during the transaction but once he had rung me up he said, “you didn’t want a bag right” and walked to the other register to help the other customer instead of waiting for my response. My card was already charging. When he came back to give me my things I asked for one and he said “that’ll be another 32 cents,” pretty rudely. I think surprise came across my face and he rolled his eyes at me very dramatically. I pulled out my card he said “ no need”. And then he kind of aggressively said “when I ask it you want a bag, YOU TELL ME!” And I was utterly shocked by how rude he was over just a bag he didn’t really even ask me if I wanted. I should’ve reminded him but I wasn’t sure if they gave out bags. I know everyone has bad days but I’m not sure if I’ve ever been spoken to so rudely by someone checking me out, hence my first google review.

Horrible service. Gentleman at the counter was condescending and insulting to my wife over a simple question. Been living two blocks away for years and have come here a few times…first time my wife comes in with me they treated her horribly. Probably a cultural difference because when I mentioned their behavior, they did not show an ounce of remorse. Never coming here again.

People who put 1 star reviews here are just miserable. I am at Choice quite literally every week and I don’t go anywhere else. I live right next door. Every time I come in all of the guys have a smile on their face, recognize me and wave and ask me how my day is. They have to deal with a lot of difficulties that come with being one of the best located stores in Fenway/Back Bay - please consider that before leaving any negative feedback.

I came to this store visiting from the UK, and the service was great! The owners are great people and were super helpful with everything. They had great recommendations for the wine I wanted. 10/10 would go there again.
