Sandeep Chandok 2 years agoI stopped by this store for the first time last Friday (10/06) and wish I had found it sooner. It had a great selection of products whether it was whiskey, tequila, beer, seltzers, wine...you name it, they have it. AND their prices are really good compared to other liquor stores and places like Bevmo, Safeway, etc. I picked up a bottle of Jameson for $22, which is typically around $25-27 at other stores. They also have a good amount of top-shelf liquor as well, and the workers were nice, too. Definitely going to come here regularly anytime I need alcohol for a party, gathering, game day or night out. Support local businesses!
Frank Gibson 4 years agoI used to enjoy this location. It is directly across the street from me, and they are typically friendly. Today, they refused to sell me toilet paper. Of all things, why toiletries? They had several 12 packs on the shelf. I picked one up and some other items. At check out, he tries to open the package and sell me loose, unwrapped individual rolls at the proposed price of $1. When I asked him why he kept whispering when talking to me, but was much louder when talking to his coworker, he simply refused to sell me the toilet paper. At that point I left, and won't be returning. You hate to see that when you try to support local business owners, they treat you like this. ***I just noticed that the owner responded here being upset that I left my review on more than one website. "Personal slander." Are you kidding? This was my experience and I shared it on two sites. As you mentioned, your clerk was wrong. If you don't want people talking negatively about their experiences, then give them good experiences. Don't chastise us for speaking about it.

Ki-Jana Hernandez 4 years agoVery rude and honestly prejudiced service I once again have to deal with. Being a black man in Santa clara you deal with this regularly unfortunately. Not just from white people, but other people of color as well. I walked in after going to the cupcake shop, purchasing one next door. I have a small box you can hold in the palm of your hand with a single cupcake. No backpack, no jacket. And shorts. I walked in, greeted the man behind the register, and went to look at the drinks. After seeing they had a large selection of drinks and that I hadn't seen many of them I began to browse the back wall full of single drinks. Then maybe after 5 minutes of browsing (I left the santa clara campus at 11:30 walking and went for a cupcake first mind you, not rushing) I am confronted by the man behind the register saying I have been there for 15 minutes and that I'm not allowed to just be in the store without purchasing something. I literally had two drinks in my hands looking between them both. Obviously not loitering. So I politely left. Unfortunately this is what people of color deal with. I know not to spend money where I'm not wanted. And the store owner will probably try to respond like many other people do with excuses, but telling an honest account is not badmouthing. It's just sad. Hope others will not have to experience it.
Kevin Chao 4 years agoAwful experience here with very shady business practices. Came here to buy some high end liquor and was told by the clerk, "Anything over $100, you have to pay cash and we don't accept credit card." (1) This was a straight up lie designed to try and take cash to avoid taxes. I've never heard of not accepting credit card over a certain dollar limit. (2) This kind of business practice is actually illegal, which will be reported to both the BBB and IRS/FTB. I typically like supporting small businesses, but this one will not be one of them given such greed and dishonesty. Unbelievable what some unscrupulous stores like this one will resort to these days.
